NUKU theatre’s new creative director is Mirko Rajas. He will begin with his role before the start of the new season.
Mirko Rajas has been an actor and producer at NUKU since 2010. He has a degree in puppet theatre art from Turu Art Academy and his current NUKU productions include Little Prince (2017) and The Dismantling of Lemuel Pitkin (2016), which brought him a colleague award for best production. For his role in The Curious Incident With The Dog In The Nightime, Rajas was rewarded a Salme Reeg children’s theatre prize. In addition, Rajas has been part of theatre troupe Frank and teaches students at Tallinn’s Old Town Educational College.
NUKU’s current artistic director Taavi Tõnisson will continue his work at the theatre as an actor and producer.
